Helping children build strong foundations for a lifetime of reading

Hello, I'm Olivia, the founder of Rooted in Reading.

I'm a qualified primary teacher with over ten years' experience teaching children from the early years through to Key Stage 2. Throughout my career, I've supported children at every stage of their reading journey—from preschoolers learning their first sounds to older children developing fluency, comprehension and confidence.

One thing has become clear to me: every child can learn to enjoy reading when they're given the right support at the right time.

I created Rooted in Reading to give parents clear, practical and evidence-informed guidance that fits into everyday family life. There is so much conflicting advice online, and it can be difficult to know where to start. My goal is to simplify the process and help you feel confident in supporting your child's reading at home.
